Indian Ayurveda and Yoga
Ayurveda is the earliest school of medicine known to mankind. The Father of Medicine, Charaka, consolidated Ayurveda 2500 years ago.

Yoga has its origins in India and has existed for over 5,000 years.
  • The name 'India' is derived from the River Indus, the valleys around which were the home of the early settlers. The Aryan worshippers referred to the river Indus as the Sindhu.
  • The Persian invaders converted it into Hindu. The name 'Hindustan' combines Sindhu and Hindu and thus refers to the land of the Hindus.
    जे रहीम उत्तम प्रकृति, का करी सकत कुसुंग,
    चन्दन विष व्यापत नहीं, लिप्तात रहत भुजंग.

Jo Rahim uttam prakrti, ka kari sakat kusang,
Chandan vish vyapat nahi, liptaat rahat bhujang.
"Says Rahim, How will evil corrupt, he who has an excellent character? After all does the sandalwood become poisonous by having snakes lie around its trunk?"

    कही रहीम सम्पति सगे, बनत बहुत बहु रीत,
    बिपति कसोटी जे कसे, ते ही सांचे मीत

kahi Rahim samptti sagei, banat bahut bahu reet,
bippati kasoti jei kase, tei hi sanche meet.
"Says Rahim, people will find many many ways to be related to fortune. But only he is a true friend, who stands by you in misfortune"

    "बड़े बड़ाई न करें, बड़े न बोले बोल,
    रहिमन हीरा कब कहे, लख टका मेरो मोल.

Bade Badai na karei, badei na bole bol,
Rahiman heera kb kahe, rakh taka mero mol.
"The truly great never reveal their worth. Nor do those who are truly worthy of praise, praise themselves. Says Rahim, when does a diamond reveals its value."
Pothi Padh Padh Kar Jag Mua, Pandit Bhayo Na Koye
Dhai Aakhar Prem Ke, Jo Padhe so Pandit Hoye

Reading Books and Scriptures everyone died, No one became Pandit
Two and Half Words of Love, Who ever reads, Pandit he becomes
Forget about book learning, no mater how many books you read, you won't become wise, you won't became the Pundit. A few words of love and you'll become Pundit. Try it.
Chinta Aisee Dakini, Kat Kaleja Khaye
Vaid Bichara Kya Kare, Kahan Tak Dawa Lagaye

Worry is such a Thief, it eats one's heart
What can the poor doctor do, How far will his medicine reach?
    Don't worry, be happy.
Jaise Til Mein Tel Hai, Jyon Chakmak Mein Aag
Tera Sayeen Tujh Mein Hai, Tu Jaag Sake To Jaag

Like the Oil is inside the Seed, Just as the Fire is Inside the Flint Stone
Your God is Inside You, If you have the Power to Wake Up, then Wake Up
God is within, like the oil in the seed - wake up if you have the power to.
Bada Hua To Kya Hua, Jaise Ped Khajoor
Panthi Ko Chaya Nahin, Phal Laage Atidoor

If You are Big so what? Just like a date tree
No shade for travelers, fruit is hard to reach
Being bid, important, powerful, wealthy is of no consequence - Kabir links this to a date tree that does not give shade to the traveller and its fruit is out reach.
